Alpha Kamara

Caretaker

Alpha, 33, has worked at OAKS for over 9 years, ever since the school opened in October 2007.  He loves his job and status.

Alpha began as a cleaner and is now our highly trusted caretaker. This is a wide ranging role, cleaning, carrying water, doing minor repairs and making sure all problems are noted and reported to the head teacher.  He also returns to school each night to sleep on the premises, ensuring the safety of the building and its contents.

Alpha is married to Hawa and they have two children.  Alpha Junior is 11 years old and in Class 4, daughter Adama 7 in Class 2, they attend a local primary school close to their family home, which is just over a mile from OAKS.

Alpha also co-runs the OAKS scout group with teacher Francis.  There are 29 members from Class 6 and Junior Secondary.  Alpha really enjoys this, he was a boy scout himself.
